Why failure succeeds

To many people failure is something that happens when people are poorly equipped for the task at hand or simply make too many mistakes along the way. It is this type of thinking that encourages creative people to often times focus on fully cooked ideas and concepts and not take the necessary time to experiment and possibly fail along the way.  Instead of innovation, they focus on clear deliverables and known outcomes.  By failing from time to time we allow ourselves the chance to test hypotheses, take risks and surprise clients and more importantly ourselves.

About Doug Perkul

Doug Perkul is the Managing Partner for Sid Lee Technologies Europe.  Based in Amsterdam he and his teams have worked on creative digital programs for clients such as Adidas, Heineken, Nivea and Dom Perignon.  Before joining Sid Lee two years ago, Doug ran the Converse digital account for R/GA in New York City and served as the Managing Partner and Founder of Schatzi, a creative firm established to work on digital branded content for Garnier, Newcastle Brown Ale, New Balance and the Sundance Channel.  When not working on digital projects, Doug can be found working as an illustrator and painter and playing with his two children.
