Jonathan Villeneuve makes poetic machines by assembling familiar materials that he barely transforms. His work move, emit light and produce sounds in ways that challenge one's assumption about it's imaginary function. His work has been showed in Canada and Europe. He is an active member of the Perte de Signal collective since 2005. He designs scenes where the public is encouraged to move about, automaton-landscapes deployed in a dialogic exchange between nature and technology, where the predominance of one over the other seems inexistent. He lives and works in Montreal.
