After completing his studies in Product Design, Florian Dussopt moved to London to set up the interactive design studio Florian Dussopt Design Studio. Clients of his include prestigious brands like Kellogg's, Bombay Sapphire, BBC and Samsung, for whom he designs experiences, products, and installations. His studio-workshop serves as a laboratory in which he actively pushes personal research and experiments, taking inspiration from science, and more specifically its optical, sound and energy elements.
Sonic Jungle envelops us in an enthralling world where the tactile is inseparable from the auditory. This anarchic jungle has an endless array of hanging cybernetic vines with multiple offshoots. A novel clamour rings out inside the installation, where intrepid adventurers soon find that the tip of each of the slender plants makes a unique noise recorded beforehand or produced using digital synthesis. As we become captivated by the plants continuously brushing up against each other and the chorus of echoes, we perceive familiar sounds of the world in new ways and imagine those of the synesthetic landscapes of the future.
Sonic Jungle is part of Les Voyages de Capitaine Futur, a European cooperation project run by Cinekid, la Gaîté Lyrique, WoeLab and KIKK.
