Magdalena Jetelova is an internationally-renowned multi-media artist who lives and works in Munich, Düsseldorf, and Prague.
Jetelova’s artistic philosophy is in the constructivist mold and is combined with elements of Arte Povera and Land Art. She is also known worldwide for her monumental wooden sculptures. Her chairs and tables have been exhibited at New York’s MoMA, Vienna’s Museum of the 20th Century, and London’s Tate Gallery. Her works are found in the Hirschhorn Museum in Washington, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Ludwig Collection in Basel.
For KIKK in Town, Magdalena Jetelová's installation Avion, first presented in Brno, Czech Republic in 2009, will be restored within the walls of the future House of Culture. Like giant lungs, the red membranes of Avion/2 give life to the building, moving with the wind.
