About KIKK

Kikk Festival
14th Edition - Boom boom tchak
On a daily basis, KIKK organizes events, stages exhibitions, supports the production of artistic works and participates in the emergence of new projects, which it then supports and promotes.
It evolves, impetuous, according to the seasons, carried by winds and tides, that it never covers twice in the same way. Its aim: to mix fields, genres and generations, to question the multiple uses of new technologies, and in so doing, foreshadow the new challenges of a world on the move.
Every year, KIKK organizes the eponymous international festival in Namur, which showcases digital practices in the broadest sense. For its 13th edition in 2024, the event attracted over 28,000 visitors (professionals and the curious alike) from nearly 50 nationalities.
BOOM BOOM TCHAK
The festival traces the evolution of sound, from its natural origins to its contemporary transformations, and questions how artificial intelligence and engineering are reshaping the way we listen and connect to the world. We dive into the realm of waves, resonances, and feedback loops, where sound meets rituals, traditions, and shared imagination.
Universal and primal, sound connects us across cultures, evoking mystical experiences and altered states of consciousness. Boom boom tchak, a fundamental rhythmic pattern found in many forms of music, embodies the dialogue between bass and snare, that pulse which drives motion and dance.
In this edition, we celebrate this universal rhythm as a bridge between the organic and the synthetic, the ancestral and the future. The exhibition invites you to listen, to feel, and to perceive the infinite harmonies of the world.
