Pors & Rao

Aparna Rao, of duo Pors & Rao since 2004, works between their studio in Bangalore and lab in Zurich. They make objects and installations often incorporating physical animation and responsive behaviors, to evoke a sense of a being. Many of their works are conceived as a kind of ‘being’ with basic behavior traits such as shyness, fatigue and dependency; highlighting involuntary aspects of human behavior and relationships. She also runs the Robotics Aesthetics & Usability Center at ETHZ, to freely share the robotic tools extracted from the artworks with other non technical users.
