ersatz
Ersatz is a multidisciplinary collaborative project, active in the field of live art and immersive installation. Our artistic approach lies at the crossroads of various interconnected media, in a dialectic between illusion and reality. We seek to put forward a non-anthropocentric vision of the world around us, with the aim of breaking down categories and non-stereotyping narratives. Our approach is to bring together technological tools with “home-made” fabrications, systems developed with a certain love of craftsmanship and DIY, and all that this implies in terms of imperfections and sensitivity.
Hyperborée
According to myth, Hyperborea is a fantastical island at the edge of the world, with an unknown location. To discover this unreal place, Ersatz has concocted a moving immersive experience that takes us on a journey from the depths of the northern seas to the thousand-year-old ice floes to the sidereal plasma of the aurora borealis. A UFO project in keeping with their artistic approach, between illusion and materials on view.
