Biography

My Name is Fuzzy is the interdisciplinary musical project of Swiss self-taught artist Bastien Bron (b. 1984), renowned for his innovative fusion of art and music.

Blurring the lines between contemporary art and popular music, his work explores new ways to present pop music outside traditional platforms, aiming to create an accessible experience for all audiences.

Through his work, My Name is Fuzzy challenges traditional boundaries in art, promoting a shared, humorous, and unconventional musical experience that resonates with a wide spectrum of individuals. His projects take an ironic look at how society engages with music today, questioning its omnipresence and the ways it is consumed in the digital age.

One of his most notable creations, La Machine à Tubes [The Hit Machine], exemplifies this approach by blending avant-garde and mainstream artistic elements to foster inclusivity and engage a wide audience. This installation has been showcased at major festivals and art centers across Europe, including Ars Electronica (Austria), Kikk Festival
(Belgium), Fomo Festival (France), HEK Basel (Switzerland), and Mapping Festival (Switzerland).

Since 2020, Bron has been experimenting with interactive projects that challenge our
perception of music in an era where it is ubiquitous. His work combines installation, video, and both modern and retro technologies, offering a playful yet thought-provoking exploration of how we experience sound and music today.

La Machine à Tubes

“La Machine à Tubes” [The Hit Machine] combines pop music and new technology, creating unique songs by My name is Fuzzy.
Continuing his innovative approach to pop music, Bastien Bron, also known as My name is Fuzzy, now explores artificial intelligence, embracing its fantasies and limitations. Instead of questioning whether AI will save or destroy humanity, he prefers to test its ability to entertain us.
Although it’s called The Hit Machine, there’s no guarantee it will produce a single hit. Like an artist dreaming of creating “the” hit, the machine tries infinite combinations of notes and lyrics, not knowing if it will succeed. It has been fed melodies and themes imagined by the artist, which the AI uses to create new content. The audience is invited to interact with the machine and make choices to generate new songs.
Danceable, playful, or unsettling, the work offers an ironic look at the algorithms shaping our tastes and desires.
The machine plays with its own obsolescence, blending contemporary technology with retro-futuristic craftsmanship.
