Priscilla Telmon & Vincent Moon
Priscilla Telmon and Vincent Moon are a duo of artists collaborating as independent filmmakers and sound explorers. Together, they produce experimental ethnographic films and recordings, published as open-source. Through their collection “Petites Planètes,” they explore the fields of music, anthropology, and the sacred around the world. Their practice combines films, music recordings, performances, immersive installations, and photographic works. It is a poetic exploration of sacred music, contemporary rituals, and art as healing. They notably directed “Híbridos, the Spirits of Brazil,” which took five years to complete and was exhibited at MoMA in New York and the Barbican in London.
Híbridos, Les Esprits du Brésil
The Híbridos project was born out of a desire to explore the different forms of rituals in Brazil, their musicality and movements, and to enrich it with a “digital corpus” aimed at a better understanding of all these peoples and their practices.
Híbridos is the result of five years of independent production and direction by Priscilla Telmon, Vincent Moon, and Fernanda Abreu. This research was conducted without any preconceived ideas. What was supposed to be a single film about a few rituals in Brazil evolved into an exploration of the different forms of cinema today in the digital age, alongside a collection of more than 100 films on the spiritual rituals of South America’s largest country.
