Physical therapy rehabilitation relies on personalized exercises supervised by an expert. Yet, the tools currently available, such as Microsoft Kinect, do not always allow precise adaptation and tracking of patients’ movements.
Motion Recovery, developed in collaboration with a physiotherapist, enables physical therapists to design precise and personalized exercise routines for each patient. Thanks to Kinect, patients can see in real time whether they are performing movements correctly, whether at home or during face-to-face sessions with their therapist. This approach provides more flexible, guided, and effective rehabilitation while strengthening patient autonomy.
Tested with 15 users and evaluated by a health expert, Motion Recovery achieved a usability score of 82.8 along with very positive feedback. It was also presented at EICS’24 in Cagliari, where it was well received by experts in the field.
